Facebook launches Facebook Campus, a college-only space designed to help students connect with classmates over shared interests which makes it easier to find and start conversations within the college community.
Facebook Campus is a dedicated section of the app designed for students, with a campus profile that’s different from their main Facebook profile. To start this, students need to share their college email and graduation year while sharing their major classes, hometown, and minor is optional. With the Campus Profile, students can discover Groups and Events unique to their school, and connect with classmates who share similar interests. Information and content shared on Campus can only be seen by people
Key features of Facebook Campus include Campus-only News Feed which lets students create study groups, plan virtual concerts, or ask advice with college-only Groups and events. Another key feature is the Campus Directory made to find people and link together with all with the same major, class, and more. Lastly, Campus Chats lets students create chat rooms for their dorm, clubs, or any other groups they’re part of on Facebook Campus.
